A few suggestions for how to get your narcissist to discard you.

I knew her well, as she was myself. I’m not her any longer, but I still love her and I’m incredibly proud of her.

She loved a narcissist.

She knew that he would kill her or himself if she left him. The pain of white hot fear ran through her veins every night as she lay next to her captor in their bed.

But she DID escape.

You CAN escape.

I’ll tell you how this was accomplished. Maybe you can do it too.

  1. Figure out what they rely on you for and stop giving it to them.

For him it was a clean home, fresh laundry, and a slim wife to parade around in front of others. “Look how normal I am” is what he used to tell people with my presence.

So I gained a lot of weight. Almost 40 lbs. I stopped wearing makeup. I stopped doing his laundry and cleaning the house, although I apologized every day for it not being done, and was often punished.

I cut my hair short, and made no effort to look cute. Ever.

He was not comfortable at home in the mess. He felt embarrassed to take me out to meet clients and ‘friends’, so he left me behind.
